Originally founded in 1950 by Charles C Shipps in Vermont as a logging and excavation company. Charles and his son Steve travelled to central FL to build roads and do sitework for a large cattle ranch company in the early 1970’s.  Steve soon took over and started Shipps Contracting in 1976, in Venice,FL with a passion for the trade and an unrelenting pursuit of unparalleled work quality. In 2017, Jonathan, Steve’s middle son stepped in and took the reins after being brought up and trained from an early age in the business. We are locally owned, operated and 3 generations In the business. We take pride in building our community and doing it right.
